(Indiana, August 10, 2015) A Porter Township female tenant found a hidden camera concealed in a smoke detector resulting in a landlord being charged with voyeurism. The camera was installed in the bedroom and was found when the tenant noticed the newly installed smoke detector. The tenant removed the SC card and it showed the landlord actually installing the camera in her bedroom. Fortunately, there was no video of the tenant or her daughter found on the recorded video.
It is very difficult for the average person to find a hidden camera since the lens opening can be so small, slightly larger than the period at the end of this sentence. A professional bug sweep can quickly identify the presence of a hidden camera, whether it is wired or wireless, on or off.
